Quoted @GOPLeader

Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Schumer—why are American troops who are tasked with keeping security at the Capitol being forced to sleep in a parking lot?

They deserve to be treated with respect, and we deserve answers.

Frankly, they shouldn't have to be there in the first place. But, you know -- there was that months-long campaign of incendiary lies, and ... whoopsie-daisy.

My 7-year old daughter: "There's a monster under my bed."

Me: "But you sleep on the top of a bunk bed. Your sister is under your bed."

Her: "Yes. Exactly."

Are you inauguration'd out? On the off chance you're not -- I have a variety of thoughts for you.

President Trump is still the leader of the Republican Party and the America First movement.

Yup.

President Trump stood with the thin blue line every single day.

Depended on who was being policed, right?

If you actively seek out bad journalism, you'll be able to get mad & complain about it.

If you actively seek out good journalism, you'll be able to focus on issues & inform yourself.

I can't for the life of me figure out why so many people On Here would rather do the former.

Spoilsport.

I've been pondering why Dr. Fauci became such a hate-figure on the right. I think it's because they knew, by and large, he was right -- and that Team Trump was out of its depth and blowing it. And that Trump was lying. Therefore, they turned their ire on that showboat Fauci.

In a 1988 general-election debate, Fauci was hailed by Vice President Bush as a living hero. Twenty years later, Fauci received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from George W. Bush. Fauci was all right by Republicans for a long time -- and then came Trump. Figures.

Russian TikTokers practicing their English to avoid getting arrested during Navalny protests.

“If they try to throw you into the paddy wagon, you say, ‘You are violating my human rights!’”

Amusing, tragic, infuriating -- so many things.

After she has felled the tyrant Scarpia, Tosca declares, "Before him, all of Rome trembled." Maybe one day, when Trump's influence is significantly reduced, Liz Cheney and others will be able to say, "Before him, the GOP and the whole American Right trembled -- but no more."

Naan is an acceptable dinner.

In the old days, I walked into an Indian restaurant, and the hostess said, "Smoking or non-?" I answered, "You mean, you can't have bread in the smoking section?" (Sorry, Kathryn, I'll see myself out.)

How weird that Dr. Fauci can now share facts about how bad the pandemic is and he doesn't have to worry about being undermined or fired by the president

That's "some weird sh**," as GWB once said.

On the campaign trail, Trump said that Biden would "hurt the Bible, hurt God. He's against God." Frankly, this did not seem all that evident to me from the inauguration yesterday.

@jaynordlinger "President Nordlinger alienates Georgia. Re-election in doubt."

Let me rephrase my previous comment. I treasure both Coke and Pepsi, as important in this country as the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. I also treasure both the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers. My opponents, however, hate all of those things. Vote Nordlinger!

Bill Buckley used to begin a column, "Concerning [X subject], a few observations." Well, about yesterday's inauguration, a few observations. (Maybe more than a few.) (See what you think.)
